Carolina Alves is the Joan Robinson Research Fellow in Heterodox Economics at Girton College, University of Cambridge. She has PhD in Economics from SOAS, University of London, and MPhil in Sociology from UNICAMP - BR.
Carolina is strongly committed with a critical and constructive engagement with mainstream economics while exploring alternative theories, offering alternatives from within political economy, addressing the nature of contemporary capitalism and corresponding policy and applied issues. She is currently part of the Cambridge Social Ontology Group, and the Alternative Approaches to Economics Research Group – Faculty of Economics, Cambridge.
She teaches Macroeconomics; Political and Social Aspects of Economics; Economics of Public Policy; and Issues in Social Ontology.
She is also a regular contributor to the Developing Economics blog.
